Jonathan Foer''s Tree of Codes: On The Poverty of Tabular Data Presentations

2/10/2018

It is a book called "Tree of Codes" by Jonathan Foer in which he took another book (The Street of Crocodiles) and cut out most of the narrative trying to produce another story with some 'leftover' words. I think it aptly illustrates the problems involved in cutting narratives into pieces (and into tables and list of codes...).
it is clear that we need to create relations among concepts otherwise there is no (good) story. This can be seen in an artistic project called ‘Tree of Codes’.
